About

Every contact leaves a trace. Locard shows you all of them.

Locard is a glass-box AI investigator for security alerts, built by Sprintsite LLC. We are building the investigation layer we would want to trust: one that does the work end to end and shows every step of it.

The name

Edmond Locard, 1877 to 1966.

Edmond Locard was a French forensic scientist who set up one of the first police crime laboratories, in Lyon, in 1910. He is remembered for the exchange principle: whenever two things come into contact, each leaves a trace on the other.

That is how we think about an investigation. Every alert, query and decision leaves a trace, and a good investigator keeps all of them. Our mark draws the idea: a solid L, the contact, and a teal hairline, the trace it leaves.

What we believe

Four rules we build by.

  1. Show the work.

A verdict without its evidence is an opinion. Every claim Locard makes points to the query and the result that support it.

  2. People decide what changes.

Locard reads freely within policy. Anything that changes your environment waits for the right people, and the policy that says who is outside the model.

  3. Assume the alert is hostile.

Alert content is written by attackers. The architecture, not a filter, keeps that text from steering the investigation.

  4. Measure in public.

Claims should come with a method. We publish what we test, how, and what we have not done yet.
